The Lincoln Earth Day Coalition is excited to share some updates on celebrations coming in April. While we won’t be able to have our large in-person event, we have developed several options and opportunities for our community partners to participate and for our community to celebrate together safely.
Lincoln Earth Day Activities Our activities committee has been working hard to still provide some of our usual engagement options on Saturday, April 24th. Details on our bike ride, yoga session, and climate action panel will be released soon on newly redesigned website: lincolnearthday.org
We realize our partners are already planning amazing events and activities to celebrate Earth Day, and we want to help spread the word in the community. This calendar will be a collection of ways for community members to celebrate Earth Day all month long.
If your organization has an Earth Day event to share, please submit it to our Lincoln Earth Day Community Calendar of Events.
We look forward to seeing the calendar fill up with all of the great opportunities to celebrate across the community. Community members will also have the chance to share with us how they have been celebrating and be entered into a prize drawing.
Lincoln Earth Day is collaborating with University of Nebraska - Lincoln class to create an interactive environmental resource map, highlighting Lincoln-area businesses and organizations that emphasize environmental sustainability. We want to give the Lincoln community a way to virtually explore all of the fantastic environmental resources that are right here in our city. Organizations and businesses will have the opportunity to share their environmental efforts, services, or resources available, and where to find out more information about what you do. Our hope is that this interactive map will serve as a useful tool utilized by the Lincoln community year round.
Students will be reaching out to businesses and organizations directly (some of you may have been contacted already!) but if you want to make sure you end up on the map, feel free to send us an e-mail. Lincoln Earth Day Coalition info@lincolnearthday.org www.lincolnearthday.org
